Summer is finally here! Finals are over, the semester is finished and life is finally slowing down. That doesn't mean that the University of Miami Aquarium Club is on vacation, quite the opposite!
Our officers are putting plenty of effort into planning for our Fall 2014 Semester. Stay tuned for posts and emails regarding scheduling of trips, speakers, and conferences that will be announced over the course of the Summer.

Additionally, we have begun the task of renovating our aquarium in Cox 184. We will be documenting the full-scale overhaul that will be going into the system this summer, which hopefully will include new racks, plumbing components, and eventually livestock!
We are aiming to make our system and space within the Marine Science Lab (our main meeting on the University of Miami Coral Gables Campus) much more effective and impressive so that UMAC will be able to hit the ground running with an incredible aquarium system at the start of the Fall. We will be posting regularly regarding the status of the project, so check out those posts when they make it online.
To start things off, how about some official "before" photos?

There is definitely a lot of work to do, but given the length of the summer and the teamwork of our officers, the system should be in beautiful shape come August!
