The same goes for the refugium (left.) The deep sand bed had reached its carrying capacity and was about to crash. About a year ago it did crash, and we ended up losing a significant portion of our livestock.
We put the rock back in the tank. Much of the livestock was kept at Coral Morphologic's Lab over break while the tank stabilized. And, after 13 hours of hard work, it now looks better than ever.
Our plan is currently to set up a second tank as a vibrant indo-pacific tank. This tank will become a local habitat with all locally found species of fish and coral.
More to come!
